Sex:
The biological characteristics that define men and women, including anatomy, hormones, and chromosomes.
Sexuality:
The expression of one’s sexual identity, preferences, and behaviors. This can include sexual orientation (e.g., gay, straight, bisexual), sexual practices, and sexual attraction.
Bisexual:
A person who is attracted to both men and women.
Gay:
A person who is attracted to members of the same gender, usually used to refer to men who are attracted to other men.
Heterosexual:
A person who is attracted to members of the opposite gender.
Lesbian:
A woman who is attracted to other women.
Pansexual:
A person who is attracted to people of all genders.
Transgender:
A person whose gender identity does not match the sex they were assigned at birth.
Queer:
An umbrella term used to describe people who do not conform to traditional gender roles or who do not identify as heterosexual.
Non-binary:
A person who does not identify as either a man or a woman and may feel that their gender falls outside of the gender binary.
Sexual Orientation:
The gender(s) a person is attracted to, including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, etc.
Sexual Identity:
The way a person identifies their own sexuality, including labels like gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, etc.
Sexual Practices:
The specific sexual activities that a person engages in, whether alone or with others. This can include things like intercourse, oral sex, masturbation, and other forms of intimacy.
Sexual Attraction:
The emotional and physical attraction that a person feels towards others, often based on their appearance, personality, or other qualities.
